Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill unveils me as Artist in Residence for Frieze London 2014

From 15-18 October 2014, in line with Frieze London, Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill has invited me, as the Portman Square hotel’s Artist in Residence.

Setting up studio in the lobby of the hotel for Frieze week, guests and visitors will be able to view me at work as I create an original bespoke artwork using a copy of Churchill’s original suit patterns; the measures are taken from Henry Poole & Co archives – the acknowledged ‘Founders of Savile Row’ and Sir Winston Churchill’s tailors, from whom he ordered his first suit, 107 years ago. As I play with the patterns, visitors will also be able to view Henry Poole’s past ledger and measure books which refer to Churchill as a client, and the original weighing book from the jockey scales in the showroom.

Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill further cements its ongoing support for artists, and encourages guests and visitors to interact with art in new ways, outside of the usual environment of a gallery or museum.

Chalk Stripe – A Henry Poole cocktail for Frieze London – will be available at The Churchill Bar & Terrace from 15-18 October.
