The world Travellers a private commission for collectors who live between London and New York made on canvas has intricate details in gilding and acrylic painting with collage elements.
The collectors, who also patronise projects by Narielwalla, commissioned the artwork to reflect their passion for travelling. Previously works exploring abstract maps of the universe were made, so an instant connection was made to create a work from a line drawing of the world map juxtaposed against patterns.
The border of the artwork consists of paper shapes collaged on strips of gilding reading as imaginary flags and referencing the great Italian artist Alighiero Boetti.
